Carla Archuletta, MA, LPC/MHSP, FT, NCC
Carla Archuletta, MA, LPC/MHSP, FT, NCC is a licensed professional counselor, Tennessee Approved Supervisor, Fellow in Thanatology, and grief and trauma specialist whose work focuses on grief and bereavement, serious illness, caregiving, dementia, medical trauma, and end-of-life care. Carla is an instructor with the University of Vermont’s End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate and Grief & Bereavement Specialist Certificate programs. She is also the developer and instructor of UVM’s End-of-Life Dementia Care Professional Certificate, which brings together dementia-informed end-of-life care, caregiver support, grief and loss, communication, relational connection, and ethical considerations. She is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant and collaborates with ConnectEMDR Training & Consulting as an EMDR Basic Training Facilitator and educator. Her EMDR work includes the intersection of trauma, grief, serious illness, dementia, and caregiving. Carla is co-author of "Health-Medical Challenges and Grief: Group EMDR Therapy for Patients and Caregivers,” published in EMDR Group Therapy: Emerging Principles and Protocols to Treat Trauma and Beyond (Springer Publishing, 2023). Her background also includes hospice grief counseling, end-of-life doula work, biomedical research, and hospice and hospital volunteering. Across her clinical work and professional education, Carla brings a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to supporting people living with grief, loss, serious illness, and the many transitions that accompany them.
