Description
Do parents come to you describing their children as manipulative, out-of-control, defiant, disrespectful, anxious, or shut down?
You don't need superhero powers to see the vulnerable, dysregulated child underneath the behavior. When you learn to view challenging behaviors through a developmental, relational, and trauma-informed lens, those behaviors begin to make sense, and intervention becomes more effective.
This practical, highly engaging training explores how trauma, adversity, attachment disruptions, nervous system dysregulation, sensory processing differences, and unmet needs contribute to challenging behaviors in children and teens. Through compelling case examples, hands-on demonstrations, and practical application, you'll gain new ways of understanding the children you serve and the behaviors that often leave even experienced professionals wondering, "What else can I try?"
Along the way, you'll challenge long-held assumptions, discover new possibilities for intervention, and return to your work with a deeper understanding of what drives behavior and what truly creates change.
- What you’ll take back to your practice or classroom...
- What big behaviors are actually protecting
- Why some of the most common parenting and discipline strategies make dysregulation worse

- How safety, attachment, and co-regulation create change when consequences can't
- 100 trauma-informed interventions woven throughout this two-day experience
Every child carries a story. Every family tells one. Healing begins with hearing them.
Register now to bring these concepts to life and transform your work with kids and the adults raising and teaching them.
Plus, this 2 day event meets the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Professional Certification.
