Immerse Yourself Inside a Real EFIT Session — A Unique Live Client Experience You Can’t Miss.

Many trauma survivors carry emotions that never had the chance to be witnessed in safety. What once served as self‑protection—mistrust, numbing, shutting down—slowly hardens into a trap of profound loneliness.

And once inside that trap, painful beliefs begin to take hold: “I’m too much,” “I’m not enough,” “I’m broken.” These stories keep clients from the very thing they long for… deeper, safer connections.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) offers a clear, science‑based roadmap for entering protected internal landscapes and accessing traumatic impacts safely. Rooted in attachment science and the groundbreaking Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) approach developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, EFIT shows clinicians how to create the kind of attuned, corrective emotional experiences that transform identity‑shaping wounds.

It is the #1 modality for healing attachment trauma because it teaches you how to:

  • Build the safe, protective therapeutic bond clients need to finally open up
  • Access and soften raw emotions buried behind layers of defense
  • Transform overwhelming emotional states into pathways for regulation and resilience
  • Help clients use new emotional skills to cultivate secure, authentic connections

And while EFIT is powerful on paper, seeing it in action is what truly brings the model to life.

That’s why we created this rare 2‑day training in Toronto with EFIT co‑founder Dr. Leanne Campbell—so you can learn directly from one of the field’s leading developers exactly how to apply EFIT moment‑to‑moment in trauma treatment. You’ll witness EFIT in real time through a full live client demonstration, giving you an inside view into the precision, attunement, and emotional deepening that make the model so effective.

PLUS, you’ll earn your Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) designation at the same time.

A Unique Experience With a Live Client Demonstration

This training goes beyond lecture.

You will see EFIT applied in real time as Leanne Campbell conducts a live therapy session with a client, followed by commentary with EFIT trainer, Robin Williams Blake. This live consultation will demonstrate:

  • The five-move tried-and-true set of interventions, the EFIT Tango
  • Step‑by‑step emotional deepening
  • Regulating and engaging the body as the gateway to transformation
  • How corrective emotional experiences are shaped moment by moment

This is a rare opportunity to ask questions, observe decision‑making as it unfolds, and witness the depth, safety, and attunement that allow trauma survivors to shift their internal worlds.

For those joining us in Toronto, you’ll also have the benefit of gathering in person—reconnecting, networking, and learning closely with colleagues.

Why EFIT for Trauma?

EFIT helps clients reconnect with the parts of themselves shaped by early relational wounds, including:

  • Shame‑based self‑definitions
Beliefs like “I’m unlovable,” “I’m too much,” “I don’t matter” rooted in childhood neglect, abandonment, trauma, or inconsistent caregiving.
  • Emotional dysregulation and overwhelm
Emotions that feel scary, unsafe, or alien because they were ignored, punished, or chaotic in early relationships.
  • Disconnection from self and others
Protective patterns such as shutting down, numbing, dissociation, or staying constantly on alert.
  • Unresolved, identity‑shaping experiences
Attachment ruptures—abuse, neglect, abandonment, betrayal—that still live in the body and continue to organize a client’s sense of self.

  1. Utilize the DSM 5® classification of trauma and stressor related disorders to conceptualize clients’ presenting concerns.
  2. Identify how developmental trauma and attachment related trauma shape identity, emotional regulation, and core internal working models.
  3. Use validated tools and scales, including measures for PTSD, complex trauma, and trauma related symptoms, to conduct trauma assessments.
  4. Differentiate trauma symptoms from common comorbidities and how these comorbidities influence case conceptualization and treatment.
  5. Apply the phases of trauma treatment—safety, stabilization, processing, and reintegration—within the EFIT framework.
  6. Use an attachment based lens to conceptualize trauma presentations and integrate attachment principles into treatment planning.
  7. Apply experiential, emotion focused interventions from EFIT to deepen emotional processing and support trauma resolution.
  8. Choose grounding, stabilization, and affect regulation strategies to enhance safety and emotional management in early phases of trauma therapy.
  9. Use the EFIT Tango to structure corrective emotional experiences that reshape clients’ traumatic meanings and identity patterns.
  10. Apply EFIT’s Attachment Injury Repair Model (AIRM) to support relational healing and trauma repair.
  11. Evaluate the impact of traumatic stress on emotional, cognitive, relational, and somatic functioning across developmental stages.
  12. Integrate body based awareness and somatic engagement as pathways into emotional experience and trauma healing within EFIT sessions.
  13. Determine how evidence based treatments—including EFIT—fit into modern trauma informed clinical practice.
